Early Childhood Education Minor (Available with BS: Elementary Education only) The Early Childhood Education Minor is a State-recognized area of specialized competency which is an "add on" to an elementary education degree. This endorsement gives specialized preparation in implementing developmentally appropriate practices including multi-age groupings, individualization, learning center approach, anti-bias curriculum, concrete experiences, pro-social discipline techniques, integrated curriculum, inclusion of children with special needs, and viewing parents as partners. It is designed for students planning to teach children from birth through age eight. A student must maintain a 3.0 average in the Early Childhood core courses with no grade lower than a "C-" (ED142/143, ED144/145, ED240/241, ED242/243, ED246/247, ED250/251, ED320/321, ED324/325).
