Early Childhood Minor Plan of Study BS: Elementary Education The Early childhood Education Minor is a State –recognized area of specialized competency that is an “add-on” to an Elementary Education degree. This endorsement gives specialized preparation in implementing developmentally appropriate practices including multi-age groupings, individualization, learning center approach, anti-bias curriculum, concrete experiences, pro-social discipline techniques, integrated curriculum, inclusion of children with special needs, and viewing parents as partners. It is designed for students planning to teach children from birth through age eight.
