Scanning endless ocean skyline, unspoken fears
The tide massages her feet, ebbs into watery darkness
She has filled those salty depths with her tears

Crashing waves of hopelessness
A woman wails with anguished despair
She crumples in the sand, succumbed by sadness

I want to console her, say I share
The searing pain of her misery
Instead I mingle with the crowd and merely stare

Realizing I am the woman weeping by the sea
Stardust tickles my cheek, dissipates in the darkness
I awaken from a deep slumber momentarily.
